Red Shoes Album - The Alex Sutherland band - Track 1 - The Swingin Shoes

The Two Red Shoes Album [1964] features Alex. Sutherland's Mainstream jazz band, Scotland Notes: The Alex Sutherland Mainstream Band with Alyson Armstrong. Alyson said that she only had hours to rehearse before the band met up in Aberdeen to record the LP with one take [September 1964] as the group were talented full-time musician who knew there trade. It is nonetheless an enjoyable listen considering it was produced and directed on a low budget and besides a technical glitch on speed during the album's release. Sutherland's version of Jelly Roll is an example of what this band brought to Scottish jazz fans. The Two Red Shoes house band were an award winning traditional jazz band in the UK and this is a tribute to a jazz ensemble in UK's music scene circa 1960s. The Two Red Shoes house-band existed between 1960 - 1977 when the Two Red Shoes Ballroom closed it's doors. During the run, there were three bandleaders and line-up changes.
