2007 Porsche 911 Oil Pressure Gauge Acting Wonky!? Part 1 - Replacing the Oil Filter Housing

After a recent oil change on my 2007 Porsche 911 Carrera 3.6 (997.1), I started noticing some strange oil pressure gauge readings. Sometimes the gauge would read normally, while other times it would appear much higher than expected, especially at idle. In Part 1 of this diagnostic and repair series, I'm replacing the original oil filter housing to see if an aging housing, bypass valve issue, or other oil filtration problem could be contributing to the erratic oil pressure readings. ✅ New oil filter housing installed ✅ New oil filter installed ✅ Inspection of the old housing and filter ✅ Looking for possible causes of abnormal oil pressure indications Will this solve the problem, or is something else causing the gauge to act up? Stay tuned for Part 2 where I'll continue troubleshooting and dive deeper into the oil pressure system.
