WE QUIT GATHER ROUND! Enough for Middle School? All-Inclusive? Homeschool curriculum review

WHY ARE WE QUITTING THE GATHER ROUND HOMESCHOOL CURRICULUM? This video is a homeschool curriculum review from the perspective the mom of a Middle schooler. I've seen many youtube homeschool moms in love with this curriculum. In my opinion, most of those homeschool moms had mostly younger kids. I was drawn to Gather Round as well because it offered an all-inclusive curriculum to teach multiple grades together....who doesn't want to teach ALL HOMESCHOOL AGES together? It can be time consuming, as a homeschool mom, to teach multiple grades if you don't have family subjects. Gather Round was the first homeschool curriculum that offered a solution for all ages, even high school! But, did this curriculum deliver on the family style learning that I'd hoped? Did my 1st grader and 8th grader have all their needs met? Can the same teaching material really be used from younger grades through the upper grades? Is the cost of Gather Round worth what you are getting? Or is Gather Round, infact, just too good to be true? This is a very detailed Gather Round homeschool review and why it did not work for our homeschool. Is Gather Round homeschool enough to be an all-inclusive homeschool curriculum? In my opinion, for Middle School, no. Gather Round may be enough for younger grades, but not for upper grades. Is Gather enough? No, I don't believe it is. The language arts OVERALL scope & sequence is unclear....In the Gather Round Earth Science unit, I didn't even feel like the language arts was even close to being substantive enough for a 7th - 9th grader. The art in this unit, and the history were also lacking real substance to be considered "enough" without you, as a busy homeschool mom, needing to do a bunch of additional planning in order to fill in the gaps. I'll show you what I mean in detail.... I can see why so many younger families are loving the idea of exploring together through the Gather Round unit study, but when your kids enter different stages of learning....going from exploring, to perhaps a more "dialectic" stage...learning all things together is more of a challenge than this homeschool curriculum claims.
