At CDC confirmation hearing, Erica Schwartz says 'abortion surveillance is absolutely critical'
At a confirmation hearing, Dr. Erica Schwartz, Trump's nominee to lead the Centers for Disease Control and Preventin, took on questions about her plans and qualifications for the job. Sen. Todd Hawley asked her about reported increases in abortions nationwide and Schwartz noted that "abortion surveillance is absolutely critical" to the CDC, adding that in assessing the data, she wants to be sure that states aren't "hiding abortions."
