Worst to best result — 🇨🇭 Switzerland in the Eurovision Song Contest (1957–2024)

In this video you see a ranking from the worst to the best of all Swiss Eurovision entries. The ranking is based on both placements and amount of points. Pause the video during the info-texts in the beginning to read more about how I have calculated the ranking. Feel free to ask any questions! Switzerland was one of the seven founding countries in 1956 and also hosted the first Eurovision. Together with Belgium and Germany they are the only country to never have missed an edition voluntarily. Nowadays Switzerland mostly sings in English, but before the language rule was abolished they mostly sang in French and German. Italian has also been used several times and once even Romansh. Throughout history Switzerland has been one of the most solid countries. They have ended up in all kinds of positions. However their flop era began when the televoting was introduced. First they were stuck in the 90s ballads and then they modernized. In the late 00s they were one of the favourites every year, but they failed to qualify due to weak live performances. The interest decreased and they sent bland pop songs, that basically never qualified. In 2019, a quarter of a century since any top placement, they decided to renew the selection method. It paid off and since then Switzerland has qualified every year and is considered one of the current powerhouses. Corrections: Mikado was performed in 1975 not 1965. Pas pour moi ended 2nd and not 3rd. It’s only wrong in the graphics, not in the calculations.
