Asia: Rock’s Hidden Treasure | Documentary
Asia, formed in 1981 by virtuosos from legendary '70s progressive rock bands. Featuring John Wetton (King Crimson, UK), Steve Howe (Yes), Geoff Downes (The Buggles, Yes), and Carl Palmer (Emerson, Lake & Palmer), the band aimed to trade long solos for radio-friendly hooks. Their 1982 debut album was a massive success, becoming the best-selling album of the year and producing the smash hit "Heat of the Moment". The band's journey included lineup changes, a historic live broadcast from Tokyo's Budokan Hall, and decades of touring before the original lineup reunited in 2006. Learn the story of how prog rock met pop and topped the charts.
