Welcome to The definitive guide to the routes of Cajón del Maipo! Chapter 2. In this episode, we continue touring every must-see corner of this mountain gem, from Las Vertientes to Las Melosas, exploring its history, landscapes and best-kept secrets. One of the favorite destinations for motorcyclists, those who like adventure tourism and the Andes Mountains, a few kilometers from Santiago de Chile. As you know, Cajón del Maipo is one of my favorite places for motorcycle adventures, and in this chapter I'm going to show you why. We start our journey on the El Toyo / Puente El Toyo road, passing through picturesque towns such as El Melocotón, San Alfonso and San Gabriel, where the mountains welcome us with all their majesty. We continue towards the emblematic El Yeso Reservoir, with its turquoise waters, and go up to Lo Valdés and El Volcán, towns full of mining and railway history. Along the way, we make stops at incredible places like the Queltehues Waterfall, the El Cabrerío sector, the relaxing Termas Valle de Colina and the spectacular Valle de Las Arenas, now converted into Parque Arenas. We descend towards Baños Morales, the last mountain town, to then discover the history behind the Puente El Cristo and end up in the charming spot of Las Melosas, with its famous bridge over the Maipo River.
