The idea is to create a small, close-knit cohort of exceptional students within the larger university so it feels like you're getting a private liberal arts education without missing out on all the benefits of a big state school. In return, students get a ton of great perks including: scholarship money, priority registration, special dorms, access to the best professors on campus, etc. You can expect to work a little harder, but it's well worth the investment.
