DSC NEO Global Keypad Demonstration

Partitioning alarm systems is pretty common practice for many people out there, and while it is generally recommended that you install a keypad per partition, the DSC NEO allows you to set keypads in global mode. Global mode allows a keypad to interact with all partitions by either using the overlaying global UI, or by selecting a specific partition to interact with, otherwise known as loaning the keypad to that partition. This can keep costs down while expanding a system to cover multiple areas by reducing the number of keypads you need to purchase. However, users sometimes struggle with adapting to the new global UI, especially if they have used a single partition system for a while prior to adding the extra partitions. In todays video, Hayden demonstrates the basics of how a global LCD keypad works, as well as shows how the NEOs touchscreens can be used to access mutliple partitions. If you do for a touchscreen keypad, it does make things simpler on you becuase it requires less programming, due to the fact that all touchscreens are able to access any partition on a system by default.
