This Dangme dirge was written and performed by the mighty orator, late Otsiame Lanor Boatey, Manya Krobo State Linguist, at the final funeral rites of one of Ghana's most prominent and influential chiefs, the late Oklemekuku Azzu Mate-Kole, who ruled as the Konor of Manya Krobo from 1939 to 1990.
