Future Fuels Challenge Informational Webinar

The Fuel Innovation Fund has launched the Future Fuels Challenge, a new $50 million funding initiative aimed at accelerating the deployment of technologies that reduce the carbon intensity of transportation fuels across Canada. Successful applicants may request between $1 million and $10 million per project, with funding covering up to 50 per cent of eligible expenses. Funding will support regulated fuel suppliers, industry innovators, and technology developers with an opportunity to advance projects that deliver measurable greenhouse gas (GHG) reductions in alignment with Canada’s Clean Fuel Regulations. Administered by Emissions Reduction Alberta (ERA), the projects will be selected through a rigorous, transparent evaluation process overseen by an independent Fairness Monitor. Justin Riemer, FIF's CEO, Heather Stephens, COO, and Christophe Owttrim, Executive Director of Technology & Innovation, provide an overview of the funding opportunity, including scope and eligibility of the call, technology examples, the submission process, timelines for decisions, and more.
