New Order • Ceremony • Promo • 1981 • This video is an edit of footage featuring New Order performing 'Ceremony' in February 1981, recut and synced to the original 7” version of the song, which was originally released in January 1981. • "This is why events unnerve me" New Order's debut single 'Ceremony', was a massive record for me back in the day. As a young teenager, it was one of a half-dozen or so 7” singles I would take to parties, and sneak on to the turntable when the older lads were nodding off to their bloody Dark Side of the Moon. “Forever, watching love grow” So, almost 40 years later, here’s my attempt at creating a satisfying promo video for one of the greatest songs of that era.
