"We Choose to Go" - October 26, 2019 (HC) - The Michigan Marching Band

(HC) - High Camera Presentation Saturday's performance, titled "We Choose to Go," honors the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) and its technological advances along with the people whose efforts have made space exploration possible. We celebrate the long-standing collaborative relationship NASA and the University of Michigan have had over time. The show features both wind arrangements and drill design by Dr. Richard Frey, with percussion arrangements by the Marching Band’s Percussion Instructor, Prof. Chuck Ricotta, and flag choreography by Flag Instructor, Prof. Joan Noble-Pruett. The MMB’s performance is a collection of medleys containing the 1995 movie soundtrack to “Apollo 13,” songs from Elton John “Rocket Man” (1972), Coldplay “A Sky Full of Stars” (2014), David Bowie’s “Space Oddity” (1969), and the main theme to the 2013 movie "Star Trek Into Darkness." During the MMB’s closer, we will be joined by the NASA Administrator and 250 students from the College of Engineering.
