Lady Run and Blue Creek (Vinton County, Ohio Overlanding)
If anyone ever tells you there are no challenging trails in Ohio, they obviously have NOT explored Vinton County, Ohio. This area is more geared toward base camping than mobile, dispersed camping (we enjoyed staying at the Altenbrauch Farm that we found on Hipcamp which almost felt like dispersed camping), but there are plenty of great trails ranging from easy forest service roads, to level 8 rock ledges. Today, we are exploring Lady Run Road and Blue Creek Road. The obstacle laden portion of Lady Run clocks in only around a mile, but given the challenge of these obstacles (mud holes, steep hills, rocks, v-notches, washouts, and a large river crossing), you may be able to walk this faster than you can drive it! Blue Creek is a mostly easy to moderate trail, with one significant section of obstacle right in the middle. Just make sure you know exactly what you are in for before you take the bypass, because it may be just as difficult as the washed out trail!
