Trump Scores 'Big Win' on Federal Worker Firings
President Trump bragged he had a "big win" in the Supreme Court, which confirmed his power to fire certain federal employees in the executive branch. The president was referring to a case that allowed him to remove Rebecca Kelly Slaughter, a member of the Federal Trade Commission, from office without cause. In a separate case, the Supreme Court ruled Trump could not fire Federal Reserve board member Lisa Cook, citing the independence of the central bank. The president also lost in two other big cases - the high court refused to hear his appeal of a $5 million verdict to writer E. Jean Carroll and it allowed states to count mail-in ballots that arrived after Election Day, denying an administration appeal. #donaldtrump #supremecourt #ruling The New York Post is your source for breaking news, news about New York, sports, business, entertainment, opinion, real estate, culture, fashion, and more.
