2001 KX500 - 1st start in 15 years

I started this bike from a bottle using a special two-stroke gas since the carburetor had been sitting for so long. I had to order a replacement gas tank since the original tank cracked near the petcock. I purchased this bike from my good friend who hasn't ridden it since 2005 due to health reasons. I rode this bike back when he purchased it new, and I have that video posted from 2003 on this channel. I told my friend I wanted to buy it back then, but I had to wait almost 20 years before he agreed to sell it to me. This bike was his pride and joy and was only ridden in the sand, and that's why it looks brand new!
