Modos griegos en guitarra – Así suena la misma melodía en los 7 modos

Do you know what the same melody sounds like in the seven Greek modes? In this lesson, I'll show you how to apply the Ionian, Dorian, Phrygian, Lydian, Mixolydian, Aeolian, and Locrian modes on the guitar using a real example: "Europa" by Carlos Santana. You'll hear how the song's atmosphere changes by modifying just one or two notes per mode. What will you learn in this video? What a Greek mode is and how it's constructed from a major or minor scale. Differences between major (Ionian, Lydian, Mixolydian) and minor (Dorian, Phrygian, Locrian) modes. How to transform the same melody by changing just one note. How to use modes in improvisation and composition. A complete example with "Europa" in seven different versions. Modes are one of the most powerful tools for expanding your musical vocabulary and moving beyond the "major/minor" mindset. Understanding them will allow you to improvise with intention and create unique atmospheres in your compositions. Something I want to point out is that if you know the major and minor scales, you can easily learn the modes. If we group them by families, we see that the Dorian, Phrygian, and Locrian modes differ from each other by only one note, or two in the case of the Locrian. The same applies to the major scales. If we group them—major, Lydian, and Mixolydian—they differ from each other by only one note. Therefore, if we understand this principle, we can easily grasp the Greek modes.
