2017 Chinese New Year “Lucky Three Treasures” | Yi Qi San Shi Documentary2017中艺春节晚会序曲《吉祥三宝》生活版改编

This is a real stage recording from the 2017 Chinese New Year Gala of Zhongyi Cultural & Arts Group in Montreal. This opening performance was choreographed by Director Lei Xianglian. Inspired by the classic CCTV Spring Festival Gala piece “Lucky Three Treasures”, this version was reimagined in a more everyday and life-oriented way. Instead of traditional symbolism, the performance expresses the meaning of family reunion through three simple New Year elements: dumplings, New Year greetings, and fireworks. This work reflects the emotional memory of Chinese immigrants celebrating the Spring Festival overseas, where culture, family, and nostalgia come together on stage. It is also part of the “Yi Qi San Shi (艺起三十)” interview documentary series featuring the director’s artistic journey.
