The problem begins when chronic inflammation corrodes this microscopic shield. The once smooth surface becomes rough, "glue" appears, oxidized LDL clings, plaque forms, and the story changes: narrower carotid arteries, vulnerable coronary arteries, suffering leg arteries. You know the outcome by its short and devastating names: heart attack, stroke, amputation. The question that never goes away is direct: is it reversible? In many cases, it is possible to stabilize the plaque, reduce underlying inflammation and, under specific and consistent conditions, induce partial regression.
