McDowell Sonoran Preserve | The Largest City Park in America

Today we discover wilderness in the heart of one of the biggest cities in America. The McDowell Sonoran Preserve, located in Scottsdale, Arizona, protects a mountain range just northeast of Phoenix. Spanning 30,580 acres, the Preserve is larger than eight National Parks and hosts extraordinary desert scenery and hiking challenges suitable for all skill levels. The out-and-back hike up to Bell Pass is roughly eight miles round trip with just under 1,800 ft. of vertical elevation gain.
