A husband and wife are out for a canoe ride on a calm, clear afternoon when tragedy strikes. The boat capsizes and only the husband survives. At first local police declare Arlene Westervelt’s death an accidental drowning, but after suspicions are raised that she may have been murdered, police take a closer look. Charges are laid, but eventually stayed with little explanation.
