FuelX Lite Installation for Svartpilen 401

This is the FuelX Lite, which will help regulate the fuel and provide improved smoothness and throttle response. This will set you up for some simple modifications that improve the performance of the motorcycle. FuelX Lite will help protect your engine in closed loop scenarios where the motorcycle tends to run lean. With the air filter setup, you will need something like this to help optimize the fuel mixture. "Closed loop" is where the O2 sensor is used. This is typically where emissions standards are at play and the Svartpilen 401 tends to run lean. Closed loop is based on throttle position and RPMs. After that, you enter Open Loop where the ECU fully controls the fuel mixture and your bike runs richer. "Jerky" response and stalls are often because this motorcycle runs lean on fuel. FuelX Lite (or Pro) will optimize that and smooth everything out. You will use more gas, but that's not a bad thing because the goal is not cost savings in running lean on gas; the goal is optimizing the fuel mixture for the best motorcycle performance and long-term engine protection. When you throw in air filter modifications (like K&N High Performance Air Filter and DNA High Performance Air Filter), it is important to get that fuel mixture right. You have more air intake, but the same fuel mixture unless you install a FuelX Lite or something similar (or re-tune your ECU). If you are concerned or want to optimize at higher RPMs/throttle positions for Open Loop, then consider an ECU re-tune or another modification like an ECU replacement.
