Dr. Calvin Mackie Inspires the Class of 2026 | Xavier University of Louisiana Commencement Keynote

Dr. Calvin Mackie delivers the keynote commencement address and receives an Honorary Doctorate of Humane Letters at Xavier University of Louisiana’s Graduate Programs and College of Pharmacy ceremony on May 9, 2026 — at the nation’s only historically Black and Catholic university. A New Orleans native, Dr. Mackie is a nationally recognized STEM advocate, educator, entrepreneur, and founder of STEM NOLA, which later expanded to STEM Global Action. Since 2013, STEM NOLA and STEM Global Action have engaged more than 200,000 students — many from underrepresented backgrounds — in hands-on science, technology, engineering, and mathematics experiences.
