Designed to drastically reduce the infamous Causeway congestion, it will provide a high-volume, fast, and seamless travel alternative for commuters and tourists alike. Here is a breakdown of the project's key features and its current status: 🚄 Route & Commute Time *Stations:* It connects *Bukit Chagar* (Johor Bahru, near JB Sentral) to *Woodlands North* (Singapore, connecting to the Thomson-East Coast MRT Line). *Travel Time:* Approximately *5 minutes* one way. *Frequency:* Trains are expected to run every 3.6 minutes during peak hours. 🛂 Seamless Border Clearance *Co-located CIQ:* One of the most significant upgrades over the current border crossing is the co-located Customs, Immigration, and Quarantine (CIQ) facilities. *Single Clearance:* You will clear both Malaysian and Singaporean immigration at your **point of departure**. When you arrive at your destination, you can simply walk out without needing to queue for a second passport check. *Technology:* The checkpoints will utilize AI-powered e-gates designed to clear passengers in about 7 seconds per gate to efficiently handle massive crowds. 📊 Capacity & Trains *Volume:* The system is built to handle up to **10,000 passengers per hour, per direction**.
