The track, recorded with Mardones shortly before his death in 2020, arrives alongside a live performance video showcasing Julio’s soulful vocals and brimming with his irresistible warmth on stage. "Under The Covers" finds Julio reinterpreting an eclectic mix of pop songs in the classic sound of big band and swing—a supreme fit for his crooner voice and innate elegance as a song interpreter. Recorded with the legendary, GRAMMY-winning producer Rudy Pérez (Christina Aguilera, Beyoncé, and Natalie Cole) and an elite lineup of musicians, Under The Covers’ selection of songs feels like a soundtrack to our lives, evoking good memories and brightening the heart. The album includes lush renditions of Marvin Gaye’s “What's Going On,” Tears for Fears’ “Everybody Wants to Rule the World,” Billy Joel’s “Just The Way You Are,” Belinda Carlisle’s “Heaven Is A Place On Earth,” Ed Sheeran’s “Shape Of You,” and Chris Isaak’s “Wicked Game,” and duets with other special guests including “Careless Whisper” with Jewel, “I’m Too Sexy” with Right Said Fred, and a Stevie Wonder medley with Brian McKnight. On October 13, Julio will perform at the Latin Songwriters Hall of Fame LA MUSA Awards at Hard Rock Live at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida.
