Its steady improvement to include a six-cylinder engine and convertible variant broadened the XJS' appeal and it went onto be Jaguar's longest-lived model, but the platform lived on yet further in the Aston Martin DB7, another British sports GT which would later gain its own V12 engine - so is the Aston a new take on an old favourite, or just a box of reheated leftovers?
