Tergooi Podcast #6: Kindergroei

Tergooi's Growth Clinic is a special clinic where children with abnormal growth can go for examination, advice, and treatment. This episode of the Tergooi Podcast is a 20-minute interview with pediatrician Gerdine Kamp. She was one of the founders of the Growth Clinic in 2011. A conversation about growth and genetics, communicating with children, and the special role the Growth Clinic has since acquired in the field of child growth. This interview focuses specifically on the relationship between growth and puberty. The Growth Clinic is also intended for children with either premature or late puberty. Gerdine Kamp: "Growth and puberty are interrelated. One of the misconceptions, by the way, is that girls stop growing when they start menstruating. They still grow between 3 and 11 centimeters at that time, on average about 7 centimeters. Menstruation does not mean the end of growth." Presented by: Joris Kreugel. Production: Marco Postma (Tergooi MC - communications department).
