Faced with the severe challenges of global climate change, companies focusing solely on their own emissions reductions are unlikely to achieve the 1.5°C climate target. In fact, companies can create substantial carbon reduction benefits for the entire society and value chain through innovative products and services. However, identifying truly effective emission reduction solutions and establishing a scientifically sound and credible assessment and declaration mechanism are key challenges that companies and financial institutions must address together. To this end, the WBCSD has released the *Guidance on Avoided Emissions*, providing a systematic and standardized methodology to help measure the emission reduction contribution of low-carbon products and services relative to a reference scenario, enabling companies to move from "reducing their footprint" to "expanding their impact." This tool can also help financial institutions identify transformation opportunities, support regulatory policy development, and further translate the value of carbon reduction into tangible business competitiveness. BCSD Taiwan, with exclusive support from HSBC (Taiwan) Bank, has completed the Chinese translation of the *Guidance on Avoided Emissions*.
