This is the trailer to the upcoming documentary film on Zeng Fanzhi, to be released in 2027. The film starts by revisiting his most talked-about and phenomenal exhibition during the 2024 La Biennale di Venezia: Zeng Fanzhi: Near and Far / Now and Then, then taking us further with intimate talks with the artist in his Beijing studio. Featuring the artist’s voice, added with commentaries by curators Michael Govan, Stephen Little, art critics such as Francesco Bonami, and the artist’s peers, the film explores Zeng’s boundary-pushing experiments and unique approach to painting – drawing an unmistaken parallel to our human journey of curiosity, understanding and enlightenments.
