Starting Saturday, November 1, 2025, the Tokyu Toyoko Line will be gradually changing the departure signal sounds used on the 5050 series and 5050 series-4000 series trains, which are primarily used on the Toyoko Line. Starting March 6, 2023, the departure signal sounds used on the Toyoko Line to announce approaching departure time and door closing will be changed from sounds played from speakers installed on the platform to sounds played from speakers on the side of the train. The purpose of this change to the departure signal sounds is to make it easier to understand which train is departing on the Toyoko Line and Meguro Line, where they run parallel (between Den-en-chofu Station and Hiyoshi Station), and which train is departing on island platforms. The new departure signal sounds have been written by Minoru Mukaitani, former keyboardist for the fusion band Cassiopeia, who currently splits his time between music and running a commercial simulator company.
