One of the most important stops in his life was the Hekimoğlu Ali Pasha Mosque, where he served for many years. He revitalized this once dilapidated mosque not only with its stones but also with its culture: He revitalized the neighborhood centered around the mosque, planted roses in the mosque garden, and established a "rose culture" with Turkish delight and rosewater offerings.
