TTC: A Ride On Line 5 Eglinton

April 21st, 2026 After years of anticipation, delay, loss of hope, gnashing of teeth, despair, agony (and suffering the embarrassment of seeing the Finch West LRT begin construction long after Eglinton, but open before it), Metrolinx finally completed and opened the Eglinton Crosstown light rail line in Toronto. Operated by the TTC and designated as Line 5 Eglinton in the TTC route system, the line currently runs between Mount Dennis and Kennedy stations. The line makes connections with both sides of Line 1 at Cedarvale and Eglinton stations, and with Line 2 at Kennedy. GO Transit rail connections to Stoufville can be made at Kennedy, and to Brampton, Guelph, and Kitchener at Mount Dennis. A future connection to GO trains to Barrie will be available at Caledonia station at a later date. A future connection to TTC Line 3 will be available at Don Valley station when that line is completed. In this video, we took a ride with a head-end view on the entire line westbound from Kennedy to Mount Dennis.
