SEJARAH KOTA CILEGON : Perjuangan para tokoh islam dlm Pemberontakan Geger Cilegon Lawan Penjajah
#kotacilegon #CILEGON #ASCNEWSCILEGON #ascnews Cilegon City… Considering that this city is the largest steel producer in Southeast Asia. Some call Cilegon City "STEEL CITY" because one of the world's largest steel companies, PT. Krakatau Steel, is based in Cilegon. Besides being a steel city, some also call Cilegon an INDUSTRIAL CITY because of the many chemical and manufacturing industries in Cilegon. However… Some also call Cilegon a STRAIGHT CITY because its roads tend to be straight from end to end. (Oh, I'm just making things up…). So what is the history of Cilegon? The Banten Sultanate Period The Banten Sultanate period began during the reign of Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa, who ruled from 1651 to 1683, the 6th Sultan of Banten. Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa's name comes from when he founded a new palace in Tirtayasa Hamlet (located in Serang Regency). Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa was born in the Banten Sultanate in 1631 and died in Batavia (Dutch East Indies) in 1692 at the age of 60. In 1651, under the rule of the Banten Sultanate, Cilegon was a small swampy village with few settlements. During its golden age, a crossing route between Java and Sumatra was opened. This led to the influx of immigrants into Cilegon. Furthermore, Cilegon's society became heterogeneous and diverse, accompanied by rapid development. Dutch East Indies Period In 1816, the Dutch East Indies established the Cilegon district under the Banten residency in Serang City. During this time, the people of Cilegon fought to free themselves from the oppression of the Dutch colonialists, reaching its peak. The peak of the Cilegon people's resistance against the Dutch colonialists was led by KH. Wasyid, known as the GEGER CILEGON Rebellion, on July 9, 1888. If you've ever been to Cilegon, you'll likely know the golden statue monument in front of Transmart Cilegon, right at the red light intersection. This monument commemorates the struggle of the Cilegon people against the colonialists at that time. In 1924, an Islamic educational institution, the Al-Khairiyah Islamic School, was established in the Cilegon district. This institution produced several prominent Islamic figures in the city of Cilegon. One such figure was KH. Syamun, the founder of the Al-Khairiyah Islamic School in Citangkil, Ciilegon. On November 8, 2018, KH SYAMMUN was awarded the title of National Hero by President Joko Widodo. This was outlined in Presidential Decree No. 123/TK/2018, dated November 6, 2018, concerning the Award of the Title of National Hero. Old Order and New Order Era In 1962, the TRIKORA steel factory was established in Cilegon, marking a new chapter in the industrial era in Cilegon. Government Regulation No. 35 of 1970, dated August 31, 1970, established the Trikora Steel Industry, which rapidly expanded, transforming the TRIKORA STEEL FACTORY into KRAKATAU STEEL and its subsidiaries. Krakatau Steel drove rapid development and growth in the Cilegon region, transforming the area from primarily rice paddies and plantations into a hub for industry, commerce, and services. According to Article 3 of Government Regulation Number 40 of 1986, the Administrative City of Cilegon falls under the administration of Serang Regency, both in terms of governance and finance. The aspirations within the Administrative City of Cilegon are channeled through representatives appointed or assigned as members of the Serang Regency Regional People's Representative Council (DPRD). As a service center for the Banten region and its surroundings, both in collection and distribution services, Cilegon's population growth is strongly supported by the development of industry and commerce. The development and progress of the Administrative City of Cilegon not only impact the need for improved services in the areas of government, development, and community affairs, but also provide an overview of the region's support, capacity, and potential for implementing REGIONAL AUTONOMY. Therefore, to further enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of governance, as well as the implementation of development and public services, it is deemed essential for the Administrative City of Cilegon to become the Municipality of Cilegon. The Reformation Era In 1999, specifically through Law No. 15 of 1999, dated April 27, 1999, the administrative status of Cilegon City was changed to Cilegon Municipality. At that time, Mr. Tubagus Rifa'i Halir served as mayor of Cilegon. #CILEGONNEWS #CILEGONINFO #CILEGONCITIZENS #CILEGONTOURISM #CILEGONMALL #CILEGONRESTOCILEGON #CILEGONHOTELS #CILEGONHISTORY
