"Agricultural aviation" is what the small FSB Air Service team from Kyritz performs here in the Ore Mountains in the past. Today, it's called "pro-ecological aerial work." It has replaced the traditional agricultural aviation, which was particularly important in the GDR. Forest liming, the dropping of natural lime to repair environmental damage, is only one part of the work. Short-term improvement is not to be expected, and the lime is no miracle cure, but it strengthens natural nutrient cycles and promotes the rejuvenation of forest trees. The Ore Mountains were and are particularly affected. Saxony has been liming its forests since 1991, with aerial spraying being one method among others.
