BBC 999 Lifesavers 12th February 1993 "The MV Muree Rescue" with Weather Bulletin, Continuity etc

Well, Well, Well! Tonight we were going to have a huge treat for you all. Imagine my excitement when I happened upon not only an episode of one of my favourite childhood shows; 999, I also happened upon the continuity promos and even a weather update from the day of TX; 12/02/1993! I set the capture to go, went and grabbed a beer and on my return; I found I was capturing a Kenny Everett tribute show! It is a bit of a risk with this hobby; you are relying solely on the Previous Owner of the VHS tapes to provide a quality recording of the content, and in this case it was just the first reconstruction; an incident onboard the MV Muree; a Pakistani registered ship which sunk in 1989 in The English Channel. As you can imagine; the air became blue rather quickly as I thought I'd struck gold here with the entire episode!!! That being said, what we do have is a good capture of a good reconstruction, with some really decent Continuity to boot, so please sit back and enjoy what we have of this early 999 episode! But this is a good lesson to those who might consider capturing lost gems.
