The first 900. Tony Halk VS Tas Pappas

Tony Hawk has cemented his place in skateboarding history as the most recognizable name in the sport. Whether you skate or not, you likely know Tony Hawk. His list of accomplishments is unmatched - turning pro as a kid, dominating competitions in the 80s, 90s, and 2000s, creating one of the best-selling video games of all time, and cameos in movies and commercials. However, Hawk's most groundbreaking achievement was landing the first ever 900 (two and a half mid-air revolutions). Before Hawk stuck that trick, many didn't think it was possible. Numerous skaters tried and failed, resulting in broken bones and injuries before eventually giving up. But others like Danny Way, Rob Boyce, and Tas Pappas were getting close. Questions around whether others could have achieved the trick if given the same opportunities and exposure as Tony Hawk. Tas Pappas was at the X-games that year but was not invited to the best trick contest. Was there foul play? Was Tas Pappas robbed at a chance to make skateboarding history? did Danny Way actually land the 900 in 1990. Let us speculate.
