Corruption is everywhere, but the difference is whether it is actually punished. In Germany, meanwhile, they are being sued over the Rundfunkbeitrag — a mandatory contribution for ARD, ZDF, and Deutschlandradio. The issue is ostensibly about 58 cents, but in reality it is about the independence of public broadcasting, the control of politicians, and the responsibility of the media to the people who pay this bill every month. We are also talking about Ukraine’s accession to the EU. The EU is making it increasingly clear that Ukraine and Moldova can move forward on separate tracks. After the opening of the first negotiation cluster, each country will be responsible for its own reforms. If Moldova moves faster, Brussels will not necessarily keep it in the same package as Ukraine. Finally, there is some positive news for drivers in Germany: diesel has fallen in price almost to the level before the Iranian crisis, and E10 is also gradually decreasing. But the Tankrabatt ends at the end of the month, so from July 1, fuel prices may jump again by about 17 cents per liter.
