Sometimes a dream follows you for years, like a quiet stream in the background. For me, that dream was to paddle a canoe through the Canadian wilderness. And now, finally, I got to make it happen – together with my friend Martin Trahan. Our journey begins on the British Columbia side, at Atlin Lake, whose clear waters are born from glaciers and surrounded by snow-capped mountains. There, amidst the mountains and ice, the Yukon begins – and we enter its current. We have twenty days and about 950 kilometers ahead of us. Twenty days, during which morning after morning we push the canoe into the water, paddle across large lakes and finally let the current carry us, watching how the landscape slowly changes, day by day.
