Notes: Per CHP, an electric school bus caught fire near the Osborne Street off-ramp along the westbound I-210 freeway on Wednesday morning. Reports of the incident were first received around 9:20 AM, with early details unclear on whether any students were on board. Moments later, authorities confirmed the bus was fully engulfed, sending up a large, dark smoke plume visible for miles. The fire occurred near Hansen Dam, and heavy smoke quickly drifted across the freeway, creating extremely hazardous visibility conditions for passing drivers. As the situation escalated, visibility deteriorated to the point where fire officials requested the closure of the eastbound I-210 Osborne off-ramp to slow traffic and protect crews. By 10:09 AM, a SigAlert was issued, shutting down both the eastbound and westbound lanes of the I-210 at the Osborne Street off-ramps. The estimated duration of the closure was one hour due to the intensity of the fire and the need to secure the scene. Westbound traffic was diverted off the freeway at Sunland, and officials confirmed the bus involved was an electric vehicle. Additional traffic control was requested on the eastbound I-210 at Foothill as crews continued to operate.
