I just finished reading the book "Exu Caveira - From Priest to Guardian of the Cemetery" and I'm very, very confused by the actions of the spirits that, in the book, are called pagan exus. These exus, who according to the text inhabit the dark zones and cannot leave them, do some bad things, such as binding a person to an ovoid, so harmful that the person is induced to suicide (last paragraph on page 125). These spirits seem more like kiumbas. And they are very reminiscent of the spirits that manifest in some terreiros (Umbanda temples) and who accept to do both good and evil.
