Dolce Gabbana Pour Homme INTENSO

Why does this fragrance not get enough love? Sometimes even get hate? Total injustice. This is one of those flankers where if you already own the original, it may be somewhat redundant given the overall similar feel you get, but if I had to choose one, I would get INTENSO. Here's why. Intenso comes in EDP concentration that lives up to that, as it is richer, smoother, more rounded and refined. In terms of scent character, I would say it has a woodier, earthier edge while still retaining freshness from the sharp lavender along with aquatic notes. Notably absent in the opening is the tart citrus that you get with the original. Instead you have the moepel wood accord, a South African tree that gives you slight floral nuances and a honeyed sweetness that blends well with the sandalwood also in the fragrance. INTENSO is also drier than the original focusing on a hay note, similar to that found in Chergui - but here it's not a tobacco honey combination, rather a tobacco lavender combination that is the highlight. Best part is that it performs better than the original, giving me a good 2-3 hours of projection and at least 6 hours as a skin scent.
