Northern Elders Link Insecurity To Leadership And Values Decline
The Chairman of the Northern Elders Forum, Prof. Ango Abdullahi, and political economist Dr Usman Bugaje have linked insecurity, poverty and underdevelopment in Northern Nigeria to declining values and leadership standards. Speaking at the third edition of the Late Gen. Hassan Usman Katsina Memorial Conference in Kaduna, the elders said the region has moved away from principles that once shaped its development. Dr Usman Bugaje also pointed to declining food production, displacement, weak institutions and reduced economic activity as key challenges requiring practical solutions.
