MANIAC | Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Montage

Here's a compilation of my best moments on Modern Warfare, a game which I actually quite hated. As you can see, I enjoyed its movement and the fact you can run and jump around like a madman, but I despised how addicting the game was. I felt like the combination of all the satisfying sound and visual effects, the short queue times and short games, the absence of rank points (meaning there's no penalty for losing or fear to lose your rank which might make you stop playing) made it so that I would play for entire days, instead of doing the fulfilling things I wanted to do, such as spending time with my girlfriend and my family, doing video editing, reading, sports, etc. As the clips show, I would spend most of my time playing on tiny maps in a desire to spend as much time shooting and as little time looking for enemies or waiting to respawn. I feel like this made the experience even more damaging because I was wiring my brain to get constant gratification with my errors having almost zero consequence, and the absence of strategy in such chaotic matches leading me to turn my brain off. I actually felt the consequence of me playing this game so much, I would spend my days playing and when I wasn’t playing, I was thinking of how much I wanted to play, even though I didn't really have fun when playing and I would feel quite empty after playing, because I felt like I had wasted my time. I also felt like I had a harder time concentrating and enjoying the moments I would spend with other people because of how obsessed I was with the game and how much I was overstimulating my brain with it. I even debated publishing this montage as I don't want to encourage people to play this game, both because Activision Blizzard is an awful company which I don't want to support and also because of how dangerously addictive it is. I decided to publish it regardless because of how much time I've put into this edit (over 40h I'd say) and because I'm really happy with how it turned out. For the first time I've worked quite a bit on enhancing the image by playing with the contrast, brightness, saturation, but also adding a more advanced motion blur (using the RSMB plugin), which is only present on the elements outside of the centre (around the crosshair), that way what I'm aiming at is sharp, but the rest has that movement blur which I love. I've also added a glow effect to all the clips to get a more "dreamy look", here's the tutorial I used for it:    • How to Create GLOW (Premiere Pro Tutorial)   I've also added some visual effects such as zoom-ins and flash effects, here’s the tutorial used for these two:    • Top 5 Effects for Valorant Montages / Edit...   And some RGB splits, here's the tutorial I used:    • RGB SPLIT EFFECT in Premiere Pro WITHOUT P...   The slow-mos are done with the Twixtor plugin. If anyone's interested in more information about the editing, please feel free to ask, I would be happy to explain anything!
