What are the best lenses for the Fuji X-T2 (or any Fuji X camera)? | Samples and recommendations

I've had a few questions asking which are the best lenses for the Fuji X-T2 or indeed any of the Fuji X-series cameras. The answer of course: it depends! I believe that most photographers would want a selection of wide, medium and "tight" or telephoto lenses. The good news is that between the new Fujinon XF F2 WR lenses (see links below) and eBay deals on more pricey, faster lenses, it's possible to get a solid lineup without breaking the bank completely. Personally I think that for stills the 23mm and 35mm lenses are my top choices because of their versatility and price. For shooting video, the OIS is a really useful feature, so a zoom lens would make most sense.
