So Creative Assembly just announced a new patch for a 13-year-old game, which is surprising enough on its own. But while the official update will nudge things here and there, a group of modders have quietly done something that shouldn't even be possible: they've gone inside the engine. We’re talking about AI factions that can dynamically create and break trade networks, coalitions and for the first time ever… modders adding brand new engine-level functions that CA buried & never made playable.
