Dick Hyman and Dick Wellstood Live in Concert | 1983 | Stride Piano Duets
Dick Hyman and Dick Wellstood performing two great Jazz standards: I'm Gonna Sit Right Down and Write Myself a Letter, and I've Found a New Baby. Wellstood plays the basic melody and chord structure, while giving each piece a great amount of Wellstoodian flavour. Hyman adds Tatumesque and Bebop overtones throughout, in order to round out the duets. Two treasures, indeed. Thank you to Paul Asaro for supplying the recordings.
