General Susilo Yudhoyono, the army’s Chief of Staff is unequivocal: “The most threatening factor is the possibility of social disintegration, we have to prevent it.” The military will not relinquish power to Habibie, “We still have yet to believe that the politicians can lead and develop the country as required,” says General Argus Widjaya, head of Aceh operations.
