The Wise Owl makes videos like "20 Mysteries Solved with Google Street View" and relies on horror and disgust in its preview images. The TopfVollGold channel has already taken a closer look at the Wise Owl. False claims, false images, incorrect pronunciations, and conspiracy theories – someone seems to be putting together many videos with the help of artificial intelligence WITHOUT further researching the information. Who is doing this? We investigated and found that the channel operators behind "The Wise Owl" are likely from the Netherlands and started with the channel TopNL. From there, they have expanded and now operate 22 channels in 11 languages ​​– for example, "The Feathered Friend." Owls, pandas, octopuses, and a moose are flooding YouTube with fake content. We identified a channel employee who said: The people behind it know they're uploading garbage to "Die weise Eule" (The Wise Owl). And he suspects: Big YouTubers were paid to upload reactions to these channels. In Germany, for example, it was supposedly Paluten. We looked into it. Paluten reacted to "Die weise Eule" around 70 times and also said people should like and subscribe to the "educational channel." Quite a few reactions – but Paluten says he never received any money. After all, he gets a lot of clicks from these videos. We tried to persuade the operator of the channel "Die weise Eule" to do an interview and asked YouTube what they thought of these channels.
