We Transformed Our 414,000km LandCruiser… With a $50 DIY Mod

We transformed the 414 (our 414,000km Toyota LandCruiser 100 Series)… with a $50 DIY mod. This is one of the easiest, cheapest ways to completely change the look of your 4X4, and you can do it in your driveway with zero experience. Even though the car looked “fine”, the chrome didn’t match how we wanted the build to feel. So we fixed it. In this episode, Lisa and I take on a full DIY chrome delete using Plasti Dip, blacking out the grille, mirrors, door handles and trim on our 2003 Toyota LandCruiser 100 Series. No painting experience. No expensive tools. No risk. Plasti Dip is a removable automotive coating, which means: If you mess it up → peel it off and try again Overspray → rub it off once dry Don’t like it → remove it completely Once it cures (give it 24 hours), it’s tough enough for daily driving, off road use, and even pressure washing. This is one of those rare mods that: Costs under $50 Takes a few hours Makes your car look 10x better And now the 414 is finally starting to look how we imagined.
