CPAX 2020 Online Exhibition - Dragon Boat Racing (沙湾往事)

Dragon Boat Racing is a Chinese dance drama performed by Guangdong Song & Dance Theater. The show tells a story at Shawan Town of Guangdong Province in the 1930s. Shawan is regarded as home to Cantonese music. The "Three Virtuosos of He Family" from Shawan are outstanding representatives of Cantonese music. Based on the story of the "Three Virtuosos of He Family" and other Cantonese musicians, the show takes the creation of a well-known piece of Cantonese music Dragon Boat Racing as the main thread, and demonstrates the persistent pursuit and struggle of Cantonese musicians in carrying forward Chinese traditional music, the noble integrity and inspiring magic of Cantonese music, and the unyielding and striving spirit of Chinese nation.
